A reminder that Thursday, March 1, is the last day to make an RRSP contribution for the 2017 tax year. Steadyhand clients can make a contribution in a number of ways.
The simplest: Call us at 1-888-888-3147 and we can take your trade instructions over our recorded line (we cannot accept instructions left on voice mail). As long as we have your banking details on file (you most likely provided us with a void cheque when you opened your account), we can electronically transfer funds from your bank account to your Steadyhand RRSP. All trade requests must be made by 5:00pm PST on or before the date of the deadline.
Also easy, but a little antiquated: Complete a Purchase Form and fax it to us at 1-888-888-3148. All faxed trade requests must be received by 5:00pm PST on or before the date of the deadline.
The personal way: Stop by our office in Vancouver (1747 West 3rd Avenue) or Toronto (161 Bay St, TD Canada Trust Tower, 27th Floor) to drop off a cheque. And leave with some chocolate covered almonds. All cheques must be in our hands by 5:00pm PST on or before the date of the deadline.
Note: We cannot accept any trade instructions via email.
The maximum contribution limit for 2017 is the lesser of $26,010 or 18% of your previous year’s earned income (if you have a pension plan, your contribution limit is reduced).
