Tom Bradley

President and Co-founder

Tom is the President and founder of Steadyhand. His education includes a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba (1979) and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business (1983). Tom has 25 years of experience in the investment industry. He started his career in 1983 as an Equity Analyst at Richardson Greenshields. Tom spent eight years with the firm, the last three of which he served as Director, Institutional Sales. In 1991,he joined Phillips, Hager & North Investment Management Ltd., where he continued his career as a research analyst and took on additional responsibilities as an Institutional Portfolio Manager. In 1996, Tom was appointed to the Board of Directors of PH&N. In 1998 he took on the role of Chief Operating Officer, and shortly thereafter, in 1999, he was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer, a role that he held until he resigned from the firm in 2005. Tom writes a column every second Saturday in the Report on Business section of the Globe and Mail.

Neil Jensen

Chief Operating Officer and Co-founder

Neil is the Chief Operating Officer of Steadyhand. Neil graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1990 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He began his career at B.C. Hydro, where he worked for five years as a Protection & Control Engineer. In 1996, Neil co-founded Habanero Consulting Group, an enterprise web application development firm. Under his leadership as CEO, the company grew to become western Canada's premier web consulting firm. In 2001, he was recognized as one of B.C.'s leading entrepreneurs when he was awarded the annual '40 Under 40 Award.' Neil left the firm in 2004 to pursue other initiatives, and he teamed up with Tom in the spring of 2006 to help create Steadyhand.

Elaine Davison

Chief Financial Officer

Elaine is the Chief Financial Officer and Compliance Officer of Steadyhand. Elaine earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia in 1992. After graduating, she started her career at Ernst & Young, where she earned her Chartered Accountant designation in 1995. In 1996, Elaine joined the Vancouver Stock Exchange as an Exchange Examiner and was heavily involved in executing the merger with the Alberta Stock Exchange. In 2000, she joined Qtrade Financial Group as the firm's Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer. Elaine was one of Qtrade's first employees and she helped build and evolve the firm from a startup to a leader in online brokerage and customer service. Elaine joined Steadyhand in the fall of 2006, and currently serves as a member of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association (MFDA) Pacific Region District Council. 

Scott Ronalds

Manager of Research & Communications

Scott is Steadyhand's Manager of Research & Communications. Scott earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia in 1996, and his diploma in Financial Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1998. He started his career in the investment industry in 1998 when he joined Phillips, Hager & North Investment Management Ltd. Scott spent eight years at PH&N, where he worked in various capacities and departments, including client service, product research & development, and marketing and communications. He established himself as a research and writing specialist and was heavily involved in writing articles and communications materials for the firm's private client division. Scott joined Steadyhand in the fall of 2006.

Chris Stephenson

Investor Specialist

Chris is an Investor Specialist with Steadyhand. Chris earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Simon Fraser University in 2002. While at university, he co-started a tutoring company catering to high school students, which he successfully ran for three years. After graduating and traveling abroad, Chris began his career in the investment industry at HSBC. He worked at the bank for 3˝ years as an Account Manager, where he advised clients on investments, credit and loans, and other financial issues. He completed the Canadian Securities Course in 2002 and earned the Professional Financial Planning designation in 2004. Chris joined Steadyhand in the spring of 2007.

Colette Madill

Operations Accountant

Colette is the Operations Accountant at Steadyhand.  Colette earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Victoria in 2007 and is currently pursuing her Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.  During her university years, Colette worked as a Debt Reporting Officer for the Government of British Columbia and was the recipient of two academic scholarships in the faculty of Business.  She has also worked as a ski coach, and when she’s not crunching numbers, she’s hitting the bumps on Cypress and Whistler.  Colette joined Steadyhand in the fall of 2007.
